Rethinking education chapter 3

Its very good that students and teachers are becoming more excited about technology in education. Its des bring some aspect of achieving more using technology.  A change in curriculum affects not only the teacher's classroom, but their peer's, the grading system used, the technology purchases. In a way that can be true because if a teacher is so use to following what they know and then have to change due to new technology can be upsetting at times.

  1. You are so right. I wondered if it wasn't necessarily the way of teaching that is being questioned, when it comes to technology, but in fact that you don't need "teachers" with it. You would need a facilitator.

  2. Technology integration does not necessarily have to change school's curriculum; it can be used to enhance lessons that are a part of that curriculum, bolster activities, and foster students' active learning.

  3. I do like that you were thinking about the ripple effect integrating technology can have in a school. I hadn't really thought about it that way that much but I agree that the effects could be large and it could really shape a school's curriculum. Good Post.

  4. Shaquana,
I like when you bring up that the adaptation from one way of teaching to another sometimes can be upsetting but it must happen because everything in life does change.

  5. Okay before I even start on my real comment I LOVE YOUR BLOG'S AESTHETIC. Oh my god. Favorite.

Real comment: I hadn't thought about the change in the teacher's role or the fact that technology integration it is not super compatible with the "expert model" before reading Chapter 3. That introduces a tricky dimension to a more technology-centered classroom which would need to be addressed at multiple levels for integration to go smoothly.

  6. I believe it comes down to how well we can use these tools in the classroom. technology can do wondrous things, and hopefully teachers are showing that.
